Two people were hurt in a two-car crash on Route 1 near Logging Road in York Friday afternoon.

York police said a 2003 Jeep SUV operated by Jason Chase, 15, of 349 Old County Road Wells crossed the center line about 4 p.m. and crashed head-on into a vehicle operated be Kathryn Wagner, 50, of 335 Clay Hill Road, York.

Wagner was removed from her vehicle by fire and rescue personnel. She was taken to York Hospital with serious injuries and then by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Chase was not hurt. His passenger, Lory Chase, 47, of 349 Old County Road, suffered arm injuries, police said. 

Police are continuing to investigate.
