AUGUSTA — State energy officials say the price of home heating oil has risen by a penny a gallon in Maine in the past week.
The Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Energy said today that the statewide average cash price is $2.68 a gallon.
The office’s weekly survey found southern Maine had the lowest average price, while northern Maine had the highest.
According to the survey, kerosene was selling for $3.05 a gallon on average, while propane was coming in at $2.94 a gallon.
