JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Todd Keneborus had three hits and drove in nine runs as St. Joseph’s pounded out 25 hits and cruised to a 20-8 victory over New Jersey City in the opener of a college baseball doubleheader on Saturday.

The Monks (5-4) completed a sweep of the Gothic Knights (3-7) by rallying for two runs in the sixth and two in the seventh for an 8-5 victory.

Eric LaBatte added five hits, four runs scored and three RBI for the Monks in Game 1, and Chris Campbell had four hits.

Mason Roberge earned the second-game win and Andrew Keirstead got the save after they combined to close out the game with 31/3 shutout innings.

 

BOWDOIN 10, UMASS-BOSTON 9: Adam Marquit singled home Drew LoRusso with two outs in the 10th inning as the Polar Bears (8-1) defeated the Beacons (6-3) at Auburndale, Fla.

MIDDLEBURY 10, USM 6: Matt Wassel had two hits and drove in three runs as the Panthers (1-0) beat the Huskies (5-2) at Chandler, Ariz.

Anthony Pisani had three singles and two RBI for USM.

 

OREGON STATE SWEEPS MAINE: Tyler Patzalek went 3 for 4 with three RBI to lead the Black Bears (7-11) in a 7-5 loss against the 18th-ranked Beavers (13-3) in the opening game at Corvallis, Ore.

Joey Martin added two hits and scored two runs for the Black Bears, and Michael Fransoso hit a two-run homer.

The Beavers completed the sweep with a 12-2 victory, breaking open the game with seven runs in the third inning.

 

BRIARCLIFFE 19, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 1: The Seahawks (7-2) scored 10 runs in the second inning and cruised past the Seawolves (11-11) at Bethpage, N.Y.

C.J. Giles had two hits for SMCC.

SOFTBALL

BOSTON COLLEGE 5, MAINE 2: The Eagles (9-10) scored a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to pull away from the Black Bears (10-18) at Smithfield, R.I.

Kali Burnham had two singles and drove in two runs to pace the Black Bears. Alexis Souhlaris, Whitney Spangler and Kristen Calvetti also had two hits apiece.

 

E. CONN. STATE 5, BATES 0: Molly Rathburn struck out 12 and pitched a three-hitter to lead the Warriors (1-0) past the Bobcats (1-4) at Clermont, Fla.

Bates starter Caroline Gattuso gave up four earned runs on eight hits while striking out five in six innings.

 

BATES 6, MIDDLEBURY 3: Leah Maciejewski hit a two-run single during a three-run first inning and the Bobcats (2-4) held on for a win over the Panthers (0-1) at Clermont, Fla.

Lauren Dobish, Karen Ullmann, Courtney Talcott and Mary Lewis each knocked in a run for Bates. Kristen Finn gave up three runs on six hits with one strikeout to earn the win.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

TRINITY 14, BOWDOIN 9: Caitlin Irvine had four goals as the Bantams (3-0) beat the Polar Bears (1-3) at Hartford, Conn.

Katie Stewart, Liz Clegg, Carolyn Gorajek and Mckenna Teague each scored twice for Bowdoin.

 

WILLIAMS 7, BATES 5: Sam Weinstein scored two goals to lead the Ephs (2-1) past the Bobcats (1-1) at Williamstown, Mass.

Jenna Dannis had two goals and an assist for Bates, and Joan O’Neill also scored twice.

 

UNE 15, ANNA MARIA 2: Mallory Long had two goals and two assists to help the Nor’easters (2-1, 1-0 Commonwealth Coast) beat the Amcats (1-4, 0-2) at Biddeford.

Abby Slavin, Danielle Cate and Jenna Barton each had two goals for UNE.

 

ST. JOSEPH’S 17, PINE MANOR 3: Alyssa Marchant scored six goals and Amelia Santos added four to lead the Monks (3-0) past Pine Manor (0-2) at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.

USM 16, MAINE MARITIME 10: Tim Bryant and Kayle Hamilton each scored four goals to lead the Huskies (1-2) over the Mariners (0-1) at Castine.

Bryant added two assists, and Mark White had three goals and two assists.

 

ST. JOSEPH’S 14, DANIEL WEBSTER 4: Paul Dolewa and Spencer Hunt each had three goals to lead the Monks (3-2), who rallied from a 3-2 halftime deficit to beat Daniel Webster (0-1) at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.

TRINITY 10, BOWDOIN 8: The Bantams (2-1, 1-1 NESCAC) scored three straight goals to start the fourth quarter, erasing a 6-5 deficit against the Polar Bears (1-3, 1-1) at Brunswick.

Nathan Fritts and Owen Smith each scored two goals to pace the Polar Bears.

 

UNE 21, ANNA MARIA 10: Dylan Thomas and Steven Beem scored four goals apiece to lead the Nor’easters (4-2, 1-0 Commonwealth Coast) past the Amcats (2-4, 0-2) at Biddeford.

Michael Woods added three goals for UNE.

 

WILLIAMS 10, BATES 7: Matt Cranshaw had two goals and two assists to lead the Ephs (2-0, 2-0 NESCAC) over the Bobcats (3-2, 0-2) at Lewiston.
