Yarmouth seeking coaches

Falmouth sports fundraiser dance upcoming

The fourth annual Falmouth Sports Fundraiser Dance will be held April 9 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland, featuring the music of the Tony Boffa Band. Cheverus inducts new Hall of Fame members

Cheverus will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on March 28. The group includes John P. Cimino, Class of 1961, a basketball standout and a member of the school’s 1961 state championship team; Santo A. Cimino, 1962, who earned three varsity letters in basketball; Phillip “Jack” Dawson, 1952, a football, basketball and track standout who is now a member of the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame and the man behind the Cheverus summer sports program; Peter J. Foley, 1963, a state record-setting swimmer; and Ronald L. Lemieux, 1973, a football, basketball and baseball star. Waynflete lacrosse clinic upcoming

Longtime Waynflete varsity lacrosse coaches Cathie Connors and Bob Johnson will conduct clinics for boys and girls in grades 3-6 during the month of May. The clinics will emphasize fundamentals and prepare young athletes for competitive play. The first clinic is May 1 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the Fore River Fields. Boys’ lacrosse clinic Saturday

Laxpros and North Yarmouth Academy are hosting a free boys’ youth lacrosse coaches’ clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at NYA’s gymnasium.
