SOUTH PORTAND — A real estate group says sales of single-family homes rose 14 percent in Maine in February, but the median sales price was flat.

The Maine Real Estate Information System said real estate agents sold 494 homes during the month, up from 433 a year earlier. The median sales price was $158,000.

For the Northeast region, the National Association of Realtors said sales were 13 percent higher in February on a year-over-year basis, while the median sales price rose 8 percent.

For the three-month period from December through February, Maine home sales are up nearly 25 percent, while the median sales price is up about 1 percent.
