BANGOR — A grand jury has indicted a 27-year-old Massachusetts on charges of murder and manslaughter in the death of a 15-month-old boy who was in his care.
A Penobscot County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Edgard Anziani of Lawrence in the death of Damien Lynn, who suffered fatal injuries Feb. 23 in Bangor.
According to the Bangor Daily News, Anziani told police Damien had fallen down some stairs, but the state medical examiner concluded the injuries weren’t consistent with a fall. The boy’s mother was being treated at a local hospital at the time.
Anziani was later arrested in Maryland after fleeing Maine.
