U.S. Olympian, Canadian capture titles in cross country championships at Fort Kent
Kikkan Randall, a three-time Olympian from Anchorage, Alaska, won the women’s 30-kilometer freestyle race in the U.S. cross country championships at 10th Mountain Ski Center in Fort Kent on Wednesday.
Among current or former Maine Winter Sports Center skiers, Haley Johnson placed 11th, Annalies Cook 16th, Tracy Barnes 19th and Grace Boutot of Fort Kent 22nd.
Canadian Ivan Babikov won the men’s 50K freestyle.
Maine finishers included Russell Currier of Stockholm (16th), Walt Shepard of Yarmouth (19th), Spencer Eusden of South Paris (20th), Pavel Sotskov of Presque Isle (21st), Stephen Monsulick of Kents Hill (24th) and Justin Fereshetian of Turner (28th).
