The Maine Principals’ Association Principals Award is given to a high school senior for academic achievement and citizenship. Award winners and principals will attend an honors luncheon in Bangor on Saturday. Students will receive an individual plaque. Five $1,000 scholarships will also be awarded. Among those attending from the Portland area are: Catherine McAuley High School: Amelia Krahe of Scarborough; Windham High School: Jackson Taylor of Windham; Casco Bay High School, Portland: Katie Cole; Deering High School, Portland: Mohdis Delijani; Portland High School: Molly Monaghan.

 

Falmouth High School: Chadwick Prichard, a senior, has been selected as one of 250 finalists in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program for this years.

 

Yarmouth High School: Reed Wommack, a senior, is a recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from The Siemens Foundation. There are only two winners per state.

 

Breakwater School of Portland took first place at the Maine Scholastic Teams State Championship Chess Tournament at University of Maine, Orono. The team included Samuel Rallis, Ian Youth and Eric Youth, all third-graders in the K-3 division.
