AUGUSTA — The head of the Department of Veterans Affairs is going to visit Maine.
VA Secretary Eric Shinseki is planning to tour the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta on Friday along with Maine U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud.
Michaud, a Democrat, is the chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health.
Michaud says he’s working with the VA and local veterans organizations to expand access to VA health care for Maine’s rural veterans.
