STANDISH – Noah Rickerich scored in overtime Thursday to give York a 10-9 victory against Bonny Eagle in a boys’ lacrosse opener.

It was the opening day for spring sports in Maine.

Cam Schilling had three goals, and Kyle Robinson and Shane Hughes each had two for York, which converted 8 of 15 extra-man opportunities.

Ethan Thorne and Robbie Harvey had three goals, and Andrew Nelligan added two goals and two assists for Bonny Eagle. 

GREELY 11, WELLS 2: Nick Rotondi had four goals, and Ted Russell, Paul Witte and Brendan Trelegan chipped in two apiece for the Rangers at Wells.

Michael Tuller also scored and Griffin Derrick stopped 14 shots for Greely.

Matt Wilson and Scott Cryer scored, and Luke Darling made 11 saves for Wells.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

WELLS 17, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Lily Colley had eight goals and three assists for the Warriors at Wells.

Becca Colley added three goals and two assists, and Kelly Beisswanger had two goals for Wells. 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACAD. 11, FREEPORT 4: Courtney Dumont had six goals, and Lilly Wellenbach and Katie Cawley each added two for the Panthers at Freeport.

Lucy Whitacre had two goals, and Shelby Colvin and Ally Fuehrer each had one for Freeport.

YARMOUTH 13, YORK 11: Danielle Torres had seven goals for the Clippers at York.

Molly Curry and Maria Lafer each had two goals for Yarmouth.

Emily Garry had five goals, and Mackie Hill and Ali Graziano had two goals apiece for York.

Carly Woodson made nine saves for the win. Ashley Neal stopped 13 shots for York.

SOFTBALL

WELLS 17, POLAND 0: Kelsey Bragdon pitched a no-hitter for the Warriors in a five-inning game at Poland.

Bragdon struck out seven and allowed one runner on an error in the fourth.

Sarah Gilpatrick had three hits with five RBI, and Meaghan Lewia drove in three runs. 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 7, YARMOUTH 2: Brylie Walker knocked in two runs on three hits, and Ariel McConkey added a two-run double in the fourth inning to lead Fryeburg Academy at Yarmouth.

Abbie Hutchinson of Yarmouth had an RBI single and Julie Dursema added a pair of doubles. 

FALMOUTH 13, CAPE ELIZABETH 8: Maddie Inlow and Nicole Foley each had three hits for the Yachtsmen at Cape Elizabeth.

Katie McCarthy had two hits and scored three runs, and Kelsey Freedman also scored three runs for Falmouth.

YORK 4, FREEPORT 1: Chelsey Hutchings knocked in two runs with a pair of triples to lead the Wildcats at York.

Alex Rennie allowed four hits and finished with 11 strikeouts for York.

BASEBALL

YARMOUTH 10, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Nick Whittaker went 3 for 3 with three RBI, and Luke Pierce went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBI for the Clippers in a five-inning game at Fryeburg. 

GREELY 10, LAKE REGION 9: Ben Russell singled home the winning run in the eighth inning for the Rangers at Naples.

Dan O’Brien had two hits with an RBI and a run for Greely.

Travis Linehan had two hits and scored for the Lakers.
