STANDISH – Lincoln Sanborn struck out seven with no walks while giving up eight hits Saturday to lead Bonny Eagle to a 3-1 victory against Biddeford in a Telegram League baseball opener.

Biddeford took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Tyler Audie tripled and scored on a wild pitch.

The Scots went ahead in the fifth on a double by Kevin Moskevich that scored Sanborn and John Simon.

CAPE ELIZABETH 10, WELLS 2: Will Pierce and Conor Moloney hit two-run singles in a four-run third inning as the Capers (2-0) downed the Warriors (1-1) at Wells.

Cape Elizabeth added three in the fourth on Pierce’s RBI double and RBI singles by Tanner Garrity and Ezra Wolfinger.

Louis DiTomasso doubled and scored for the Warriors in the first inning, and Paul McDonough had an RBI single in the fourth.

WINDHAM 7, SCARBOROUGH 1: Ben Noble struck out eight and scattered three hits in six innings as the Eagles won an opener at Windham.

Drew Gagnon hit a two-run homer in a three-run first, and Tucker Miller added a two-out RBI double in the second for Windham.

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, MASSABESIC 0: Keegan Sullivan pitched a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Trojans won an opener at Saco.

Thornton scored twice in the sixth on doubles by Alex Newton, Ryan Leach and Jack Kenney.

SANFORD 4, NOBLE 2: Mike Gouin and Will Collison combined on a two-hitter as Sanford won an opener at North Berwick.

The Redskins opened a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when O.J. Martin scored on a bases-loaded walk and Rob Dudzisz scored on Dan Reed’s fielder’s choice.

MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 5, NOKOMIS 2: Casey Egerton tripled, doubled and had three RBI to lead the Huskies in an opener at Pittsfield.

LAWRENCE 11, SKOWHEGAN 0: Blair Blaisdell had three hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs as the Bulldogs (1-1) shut out the Indians (0-2) at Fairfield.

SOFTBALL

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, WINDHAM 0: Julia Geaumont pitched a no-hitter and struck out nine for the Trojans in an opener at Windham.

Geaumont also had two doubles and a home run.

KENNEBUNK 15, PORTLAND 3: Janelle Bouchard led off the sixth inning with her second home run of the game, giving the Rams a 12-run lead and a season-opening mercy-rule victory at Kennebunk.

Bouchard finished with five RBI and three runs.

MCAULEY 13, CHEVERUS 12: McAuley scored nine runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past visiting Cheverus in an opener at Portland.

Theresa Hendrix of Cheverus hit an inside-the park home run on the first pitch of the game.

Audrey Grinnell had a double, triple and two hits for Cheverus.

MASSABESIC 11, NOBLE 5: Natalie Van Houten had three hits and drove in two runs, and Danni Egan gave up one run in six innings to lead the Mustangs in an opener at North Berwick.

Becca DeSimone added three hits and an RBI, and Taylor Kirker had a pair of hits and drove in a run for Massabesic.

Molly Pritchett hit a two-run double for Noble.

BELFAST 11, MT. VIEW 2: Victoria Overlock pitched a complete game to lead the Lions in an opener at Belfast.

Haley Giggy took the loss for the Mustangs.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

BIDDEFORD 10, MASSABESIC 7: Ryan Regis had two goals for the Tigers (2-0) against the Mustangs (1-1) at Waterboro.

Cameron Wyman and Ben Comeau had two goals each for Massabesic.

PORTLAND 18, NOBLE 2: Kevin Nielson collected four goals and two assists to lead the Bulldogs (1-0) over the Knights (0-2) at Portland.

Bronson Guimond added three goals and two assists, and Jason Knight scored three goals and assisted on another for Portland.

Adrian Ryan finished with 23 saves for Noble.

SOUTH PORTLAND 15, DEERING 9: Harrison Keithly scored seven goals for the Red Riots (3-0), who pulled away from the Rams (2-1) in the second half at South Portland.

Garrett Reuscher added four goals for South Portland, and Chad MacLeod had two goals and three assists. Travis Wibby made 11 saves.

Jackson Sewall and Riley Asbury each scored three goals for Deering.
