Brown suffers knockout in first round of cagefight

Mike Brown, a Bonny Eagle High graduate, was knocked out at 2:22 of the first round by Manny Gamburyan in a World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight match Saturday night at Sacramento, Calif.

Brown, 35, the former champion, was hoping to use this match as a springboard to another title shot.

Instead, immediately after landing a right, he was knocked to the canvas by a stunning right. Gamburyan immediately jumped atop Brown and landed five hard rights before referee John Shirley ended it.
