A Japanese drumming group from Maine will greet a delegation from Japan at the steps of City Hall at 10 a.m. this morning.
All the workers at City Hall will stand on the City Hall steps to greet dignitaries from Portland’s sister city, Shinagawa, Japan. Dignitaries include Mayor Takeshi Hamano and Chairman of the Shinagawa Assembly Takenobu Honda.
The delegation is here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the international relationship between the two cities.
The delegation at 2:45 p.m. today will ride a Casco Bay Lines Ferry to Peaks Island.
