WESTBROOK – Kate Boyer scored three goals, including the winner with 26 seconds left, as Bonny Eagle downed Westbrook 8-7 in a girls’ lacrosse opener Tuesday.

Ciera Bellino had four goals and two assists for Westbrook.

 

WINDHAM 5, DEERING 5: Samantha Gifford scored three times for the Eagles, and Zahra Abu and Lindsay Dearborn each had two goals for the Rams in a season-opening tie at Portland.

Julie Pallozzi made 22 saves for Deering; Jackie Lorenzen stopped 18 shots for Windham.

THORNTON ACADEMY 6, KENNEBUNK 5: Alanna Richard had two goals and two assists to lead the Golden Trojans in an opener at Kennebunk.

Brooke Worcester scored twice for Kennebunk.

 

GORHAM 17, MCAULEY 7: Mia Rapolla had nine goals and three assists, and Chelsea Black added two goals for the Rams in an opener at Portland.

Tori Tenebaum had two goals, Olivia Locke added two goals and Olivia Porch had 13 saves for McAuley.

FALMOUTH 17, WELLS 7: Alex Bernier scored five goals to lead the Yachtsmen (1-0) past the Warriors (1-1) at Wells.

Laura Fay and Sarah Girouard combined for seven goals for Falmouth.

Lily Colley scored four goals for the Warriors.

 

YORK 9, FREEPORT 8: Emily Garry had five goals for the Wildcats (1-1) against the Falcons (0-2) at York.

MASSABESIC 15, CHEVERUS 14: Amber Rollins scored six goals and had two assists to lead the Mustangs in an overtime opener at Waterboro.

Jenna Cyr added three goals and two assists, including the winner for Massabesic.

Cheverus staged a 10-goal second-half comeback led by Grace Fitzpatrick, who finished with five goals and one assist.

 

CAPE ELIZABETH 17, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Talley Perkins had four goals, and Lauren Steidl and Anna Darling each had three for the Capers in an opener at Fryeburg.

PORTLAND 15, BIDDEFORD 1: Catherine Flaherty scored four goals to pace the Bulldogs in an opener at Portland.

CHEVERUS 10, KENNEBUNK 5: Joe Falconieri had an RBI single and Louie DiStasio added a two-run single during a four-run fourth inning as Cheverus (2-0) opened a 6-3 lead against the Rams (1-1) at Kennebunk.

 

WINDHAM 14, MASSABESIC 5: The Eagles (2-0) scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to blow past the Mustangs (0-2) at Waterboro.

Cody Laberge hit a single and a double with two RBI for Windham.

Hunter Duncan had a pair of hits and a run for the Mustangs.

SCARBOROUGH 3, BONNY EAGLE 1: Ben Wessel allowed six hits with eight strikeouts and no walks as the Red Storm (1-1) downed Bonny Eagle (1-1) at Scarborough.

After Ryan Nason of the Scots singled in a run in the first inning, Scarborough scored three in the third

Kevin Philbrick scored on an error and Brendan Sullivan knocked in Joe Cronin with a sacrifice fly. Wessel also scored on an error.

 

MARSHWOOD 5, GORHAM 0: Ben Claus tossed a three-hitter, and Ken Kuzman and Jim Woodsum each drove in two runs to lead Marshwood (1-1) over the Rams (0-2) at Gorham.

Claus struck out five and walked three.

The Hawks took a 4-0 lead in the second on an RBI single by Will Hosken, a two-run triple by Kuzman and a sacrifice fly by Woodsum.

CAPE ELIZABETH 10, FREEPORT 7: Thomas Dorsey had three goals for the Capers at Freeport.

Alex Sturdivant made 20 saves for Freeport.
