BURLINGTON, Vt. — A spring snowstorm and school vacations have affected blood drives in northern New England.

The American Red Cross is encouraging residents to give blood after the snowstorm in Vermont and school vacations in Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire kept some donors away from blood drives.

Donors are urged to visit a Red Cross blood drive to keep supplies plentiful in northern New England.
