Christopher Fitzgerald and Donald Holder won Tony Award nominations this morning.

Both men have strong connections to Maine. Fitzgerald grew up in South Portland, went to Waynflete School and has been acting in New York for several years. He was nominated for best performance by a featured actor in a musical for his work in “Finian’s Rainbow.” Fitzgerald is a previous Tony nominee for his acting work in “Wicked.”

Holder, a University of Maine graduate, was nominated for his lighting design work for the musical “Ragtime.” Holder is a previous Tony Award winner. He won in 2008 for his lighting work in “South Pacific” and before that for “The Lion King.”
