BRISTOL, R.I. – Kate Malenczak scored in the second sudden-death overtime as Roger Williams defeated the University of New England 13-12 Wednesday in the semifinals of The Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s lacrosse tournament.

Mallory Long and Kim Bilodeau each had three goals for the third-seeded Nor’easters (12-5) against the second-seeded Hawks (14-4).

BASEBALL

USM 11, BATES 9: The Huskies (19-17-1) broke open the game with a six-run eighth inning sparked by a three-run double from Jordan Berthiaume and held on to beat the Bobcats (25-11) at Gorham.

Anthony Pisani and John Carey each had three hits for USM. Noah Lynd homered twice for Bates.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE: Jenna Ouellette signed a professional contract to play in Langenthal, Switzerland.

Ouellette will be one of three foreigners playing for DHC Langenthal, a Division I team. Ouellette had 28 goals and 34 assists in 119 games for Maine.
