Two Pirates forwards will play for Germany in the IIHF championship starting Friday

Portland Pirates forwards Felix Schutz and Philip Gogulla were named to the host German team for the International Ice Hockey Federation world championship that starts Friday.

Schutz had 13 goals and 14 assists in his second season with the Pirates, while Gogulla had 15 goals and 20 assists in his first season.

Germany opens the 16-team tournament against Team USA at Cologne.

BOYS’ LACROSSE: Eric Banash scored four goals to lift Hebron (7-5) to an 8-5 victory over Hyde (0-10) at Bath.

Conner Harbert had a hat trick for the Phoenix.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE: Sarah Markey scored five goals to lead Hebron Academy to a 13-7 win over Hyde at Bath.

Zoe Dorian, Scout Gould and Hannah MacMillan each had two goals for the Phoenix.
