YARMOUTH – Steven Petrovek scored six goals Tuesday to lead Yarmouth to a 14-2 victory against Waynflete in a schoolboy lacrosse game.

Petrovek also had an assist. Sam Torres and Colby Shields added two goals each for the Clippers (7-0). Miles Bevan scored twice for Waynflete (3-3).

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 19, FREEPORT 6: Forrest Milburn had four goals and four assists, and Matt Kibler added four goals and two assists to lead the Panthers (3-3) past the Falcons (2-2) at Yarmouth.

 

WELLS 7, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4: Travis Shelley had four goals and an assist, and Nate Weston assisted on two goals while anchoring the defense as the Warriors (3-2) beat Fryeburg Academy (1-4) at Wells.

Kyle Morton, Doug Darling and Nate Chase also scored, and Luke Darling made 14 saves for Wells. Ryan Ahern scored three goals and Adam Shorey had the other for the Raiders.

 

YORK 13, LAKE REGION 3: Joe Zagami scored three goals as the Wildcats (3-3) handled Lake Region (0-4) at York.

Adam Ehrenborg, Louis Meola, Joel Berger and Sean Sweeney scored two goals apiece for York. Meola also had four assists.

Ryan Skillern led the Lakers with two goals.

SOUTH PORTLAND 16, WINDHAM 5: Adam Burpee, Harrison Keithly and Chad Mac-Leod each scored three goals as the Red Riots (6-0) downed Windham (3-3) at South Portland.

Burpee also had three assists, Keithly two and MacLeod one.

 

CAPE ELIZABETH 14, GREELY 2: Tim Takach and Ted Smith each had four goals and an assist to lead the Capers (4-2) past Greely (2-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Harper Nelson added two goals and three assists. Tom Foden assisted on five goals.

WESTBROOK 4, BIDDEFORD 1: Scott Heath of the Blue Blazes (5-2) held the Tigers (3-4) to a run on five hits, struck out 10 and walked one at Biddeford.

Heath also hit a two-run homer in the first inning.

Zach Collett was 2 for 3 for Westbrook.

 

KENNEBUNK 10, GORHAM 0: Rusty French hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to end the game as Kennebunk (3-4) beat visiting Gorham (2-5).

Schuyler Donovan of Kennebunk pitched five shutout innings with three hits, two strikeouts and no walks.

MARSHWOOD 3, WINDHAM 1: Ian McAllister struck out eight to lead Marshwood (2-4) over Windham (4-4) at South Berwick.

McAllister gave up five hits, no walks and no eaned runs.

 

SCARBOROUGH 3, MASSABESIC 1: Jacob Rutt drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the 10th inning as Scarborough (4-2) got by Massabesic (0-7) at Waterboro.

Rutt later scored on an error.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 8, TRAIP ACADEMY 6: Garrett Hayes drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning and the Seagulls (4-2-1) added two on an error to beat the Rangers (3-1) at Kittery.

Old Orchard took a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth on a pair of errors, but Lucas Edwards tripled and scored for Traip in the bottom of the inning. Mark McKenney homered in the 10th for the Rangers.

 

YARMOUTH 7, YORK 1: Nick Whittaker allowed a run on two hits in six innings, and was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI to lead Yarmouth (8-0) against the Wildcats (5-1) at York.

Whittaker struck out seven and walked one. He sparked a two-run first with an RBI single and added a two-run double in the fifth. Campbell Belisle-Haley added two hits and two runs for the Clippers.

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, NOBLE 1: Brendan Horton opened the scoring with a two-run double in the third inning and Zach Horton made it 4-1 with a two-run double in the sixth as the Red Riots (5-2) downed the Knights (0-7) at North Berwick.

Jon DiBiase added an RBI single in the sixth for South Portland. Jon Medici allowed a run on one hit in 42/3 innings, striking out four and walking two.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

SCARBOROUGH 14, MASSABESIC 7: Lindsay Hagerman scored five goals and an assist, and Ellie Morin added four goals and an assist as the Red Storm (5-0) downed Massabesic (3-2) at Scarborough.

Jenna Cyr scored three goals for the Mustangs.

DEERING 11, BIDDEFORD 6: Zahara Abu and Maddie Burns scored three goals each as Deering (2-3-1) downed Biddeford (0-5) at Portland.

Julie Pallozzi made 16 saves for the Rams.

KENNEBUNK 18, NOBLE 0: Taylor Crowley scored seven goals to lead the Rams (4-1) past the Knights (0-5) at North Berwick.

SANFORD 11, SOUTH PORTLAND 9: Sarah Alexander scored the go-ahead goal with 4:02 left as the Redskins (4-1) edged South Portland (2-2) at Sanford.

Krystal Walsh, Alexander and Brooke Peterson all finished with two goals for Sanford.

MT. ARARAT 5, OXFORD HILLS 3: Taylor Pare hit a two-run single in the third inning to give Mt. Ararat (4-4) the lead for good against Oxford Hills (5-3) at Topsham.

 

YARMOUTH 6, YORK 1: McKenzie Gray held the Wildcats (4-3) to a run on six hits, striking out 12, to help the Clippers (5-3) win at York.

Julie Dursema, Morgan Ruetty and Lauren Wrobleski hit RBI singles as Yarmouth took a 4-1 lead in the third inning.

 

OLD ORCHARD SWEEPS TRAIP: Gillian Foss pitched three innings of relief to pick up a 9-7 victory in the first game, and the Seagulls (3-4) scored nine runs in the first inning of a 15-2, five-inning second game against Traip Academy (0-8) at Old Orchard Beach.
