CUMBERLAND — Taylor Valente hit a three-run homer in the first inning as Gray-New Gloucester raced to a 6-1 lead and defeated Greely 8-4 Wednesday in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Ryan Cavallaro added a double and two singles with two RBI and two runs for the Patriots (3-6).

Ben Russell led the Rangers (5-3) with two hits, one RBI and one run.

FALMOUTH 9, YORK 2: E.J. Rogers hit a three-run homer to cap a six-run sixth inning that helped the Yachtsmen (6-2) defeat the visiting Wildcats (5-2).

Matty MacDowell added a two-run single and Dylan Dresser singled home the other run in the rally.

MacDowell, Dresser and Joe Barns each had two hits for Falmouth. Mitch Beaulieu (4-1) tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk. 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, LAKE REGION 0: Brady Lloyd scored on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Roscoe in the seventh inning to lift the Raiders (3-6) over the Lakers (3-5) at Naples.

Connor Tweedie pitched a five-hitter, struck out nine and walked three.

Lake Region’s Zach Allen threw a five-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks.


 NYA 4, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Dean Darien pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Panthers (5-1-1) beat the visiting Rangers (3-2).

Will Strabley had three singles, stole three bases and scored twice.

Chris Leblanc added an RBI single for NYA.


ST. DOMINIC 11, GEORGES VALLEY 0: Chris Bryant pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk as the Saints (6-2) downed the Buccaneers (3-4) in five innings at Thomaston.

Garrett Darnell had three hits, including a triple, to pace the Saints, who broke the game open with a five-run second inning.

Dylan Maloney doubled for Georges Valley.


FREEPORT 5, POLAND 3: Jared Knighton had three hits to lead the Falcons (2-6) over the Knights (2-8) at Poland.


OLD ORCHARD BEACH 13, SACOPEE VALLEY 3: Evan Bujonowski scored four runs for the Seagulls (5-2-1) in their win over the Hawks (0-7) in South Hiram.

Brandon Ouellette had a double and single and scored two runs for OOB.


DEERING 6, SANFORD 0: Jake Nichols pitched a two-hitter, walked two and struck out seven as the Rams (5-2) shut out the Redskins (2-5) at Sanford.

Devon Fitzgerald had a two-run double and a two-run single.


MASSABESIC 10, NOBLE 5: Cameron Wyman scored a game-high five goals to lead the Mustangs (3-4) over the Knights (0-7) at Waterboro.

Jordan Levesque and Corey Wakefield each had two goals and an assist for Massabesic.


GORHAM 8, THORNTON ACADEMY 7: Luc Robitaille had three goals and one assist, Connor Smith added two goals and Elliot Gagne chipped in a goal and three assists as the Rams (6-1) edged Thornton Academy (1-5) at Gorham.

Chris Dolewa led the Golden Trojans with a goal and two assists.

Nate Holloran finished with 17 saves for Gorham.
