Volunteers will distribute bags filled with energy-saving information in the Deering and Back Cove neighborhoods in Portland and Rockland and Camden on Saturday.

Trained volunteers with the Maine Partners for Cool Communities, a group working to develop energy conservation measures, will meet in Portland on Mackworth Street at 10:45 a.m. and go door to door as part of the group’s Green Sneakers Neighborhood project.

The group plans to train 150 volunteers and visit at least eight communities this year. Maine Partners for Cool Communities is a coalition of the American Lung Association, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Maine Council of Churches, the Sierra Club, and Maine Energy Investment Corp.
