YARMOUTH – Luke Pierce hit a three-run homer to break a fifth-inning tie, and Yarmouth added six runs in the sixth to pull away for a 13-5 victory against Falmouth in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Friday.

Pierce finished with three hits and two stolen bases for the Clippers (9-1).

Yarmouth starter Aidan Sullivan gave up two earned runs and struck out four in 51/3 innings to earn the win.

Ben Burnes had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in two runs for Falmouth (6-3).

 

WELLS 14, FREEPORT 4: Paul McDonough hit a double, a two-run homer and an RBI single to lead the Warriors (3-6) past the Falcons (2-7) in five innings at Freeport.

Alex Gatzogiannis added a three-run homer in the first inning as Wells opened a 12-0 lead.

Cole Boston of the Warriors gave up five hits and struck out four over four innings.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, POLAND 2: Andrew Rascoe singled home Peter Bacchiocci with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the Raiders (4-6) over Poland (2-9) at Fryeburg.

Conor Tweedie scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, and a Matt McLellan sacrifice fly in the third gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead.

The Knights took advantage of two errors and a wild pitch to tie it in the sixth.

McLellan allowed one earned run on three hits, walking four and striking out 14 in 81/3 innings. Brady Lloyd came in with one on in the ninth, walked one and struck out two to get the win.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, LAKE REGION 1: Heath Martell and Ryan Blenk each had two-run singles in the fifth inning to lead the Patriots (4-6) over the Lakers (3-6) at Gray.

Dan Place hit a double and an RBI single for Lake Region.

 

MEDOMAK VALLEY 6, OAK HILL 5: Isaac Durkee had a single, two doubles and a triple with two runs scored to lead the Panthers (4-5) over the Black Raiders (3-6) at Waldoboro.

Dillon Reed hit a two-run single in the first inning, and Shane Osier added a game-winning RBI single during a three-run sixth.

Cody Provost, Cam Labrecque and Adam Soucy each hit an RBI single for Oak Hill.

 

MARSHWOOD 6, PORTLAND 1: Luke Fernandes struck out 11 and gave up four hits as Marshwood (3-5) beat the Bulldogs (5-3) at Portland.

Fernandes walked one and allowed one run.

He also went 3 for 4 and broke the game open with a two-run homer in the sixth inning for a 4-0 lead.

SANFORD 3, CHEVERUS 0: Mike Gouin doubled, tripled, scored twice and pitched a complete game as the Redskins (3-6) beat Cheverus (6-3) at Sanford.

Gouin doubled and scored on Justin Salls’ single in the third. The Redskins added two runs in the fifth when Dan Reed doubled home Gouin and Salls.

 

CONY 13, BRUNSWICK 0: Corey Lapierre doubled, tripled and drove in five runs to lead the Rams (8-1) over Brunswick (6-4) at Augusta.

BELFAST 2, GARDINER 1: Jack Davis hit a two-run double in the third inning as the Lions (4-5) upset Gardiner (7-2) at Belfast.

Derek Bernoskey struck out 10, allowed four hits and walked one for Belfast.

Forrest Chadwick of Gardiner allowed four hits, struck out 12 and walked one.

 

MT. VIEW 6, MARANACOOK 4: The Mustangs (2-7) scored all six runs in the fourth inning to beat Maranacook (4-5) at Thorndike.

CAPE ELIZABETH 10, LEWISTON 3: Tom Foden, Tim Takach and Ted Smith each scored twice as the Capers (5-2) beat Lewiston (3-4) at Cape Elizabeth.

Foden also had four assists, Smith three and Takach one. Cape goalie Jack Roos stopped 10 shots.

 

MASSABESIC 11, BONNY EAGLE 7: Ben Comeau scored five goals, and Jordan Levesque and Cameron Wyman had two each to lead the Mustangs (4-4) over the Scots (3-5) at Waterboro.

Massabesic took a 4-2 halftime lead, then scored the first three goals of the second half.

C.J. Blanchard and Robbie Harvey each had two goals for Bonny Eagle.
