PORTLAND – Kevin Nielson had three goals and four assists, and Ryan Jurgelevich made 29 saves Saturday to lead Portland to a 14-11 victory against Messalonskee in a game between unbeaten schoolboy lacrosse teams.

Jason Knight added four goals and two assists, and Seamus Kilbride had three goals and one assist for Portland (7-0), which never trailed.

Andrew Wilson, Nate DelGiudice and Ryan Bender scored two goals apiece for Messalonskee (6-1). Bender also had two assists.

 

FALMOUTH 10, BRUNSWICK 7: Mike Kane scored five goals for the Yachtsmen (6-1), who pulled away in the third quarter to beat the Dragons (5-2) at Brunswick.

Tucker Hyland scored twice in a four-goal third quarter as the Yachtsmen extended a 4-2 halftime lead.

Nick Kressbach had three goals for Brunswick.

 

WAYNFLETE 18, CAMDEN HILLS 4: Chris Burke scored eight goals, and Miles Beaven and Zander Majercik added five apiece as the Flyers (5-3) downed the Windjammers (0-8) at Rockport.

Tucker Geoffroy finished with six assists for Waynflete.

Zach Wincklhofer had two goals and an assist for Camden Hills.

KENNEBUNK 15, MT. ARARAT 6: Nick Gross scored six goals, and Sean Foley and Bobby Kramer added three each as the Rams (6-1) downed the Eagles (4-4) at Topsham.

Sean Finn scored two goals and Ben Whitney had one for Kennebunk.

Dylan Bousquet-Smith scored three goals for Mt. Ararat.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 6, CONY 5: Tim Grose and Nate Colpitts each had two goals and an assist to help the Golden Trojans (2-6) rally from a 4-1 halftime deficit against the Rams (0-7) at Saco.

Tommy Allain made 13 saves for Thornton.

SOUTH PORTLAND 23, OAK HILL 0: Garrett Reuscher scored seven goals for the Red Riots (8-0), who took a 22-0 halftime lead and beat the Raiders (1-7) at South Portland.

Harrison Keithly added six goals and four assists, and Chad MacLeod scored twice with seven assists.

 

ST. DOMINIC 20, GORHAM 11: Matt Adams scored five goals, and Troy Haefele and Trevar Haefele each added three goals and an assist as the Saints (7-0) cruised past the Rams (6-2) at Gorham.

Luc Robitaille, Kyle Nielsen and Connor Smith scored three goals each for Gorham. Robitaille also had two assists, and Eliot Gagne added two goals and two assists.

DEERING 9, MORSE 8: Jackson Sewall had four goals and an assist, and Riley Asbury added three goals and an assist to lead the Rams (5-3) past the Shipbuilders (4-3) at Portland.

Morse rallied from a 6-3 halftime deficit to make it 7-7 on a goal by Tyler Haggett with less than 11 minutes remaining, but Asbury and Sewell scored in the next minute.

Alex Paulus and Pat Wolfe each had three goals for Morse.

 

YARMOUTH 13, CHEVERUS 2: Evan Henry scored four goals, and Steven Petrovek added a goal and three assists to pace the Clippers (7-0) past the Stags (5-4) at Portland.

Evan Jendrasko and Stefano Caiazzo scored, and Sean Oddy finished with 21 saves for Cheverus.

 

WESTBROOK 12, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Brad Stiles had four goals and two assists, and Dane Tupper added four goals and one assist as the Blue Blazes (1-7) handled the Raiders (1-6) at Westbrook.

Derek Payne finished with three goals and two assists, and Reese Leclair stopped 11 shots.

BASEBALL

DEERING 11, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Travis Wade went 4 for 5 with an RBI double and struck out three in three scoreless innings to earn the save as the Rams (7-2) downed the Golden Trojans (6-3) at Portland.

John Miranda had a double, a home run and four RBI, and Devon Fitzgerald added three hits with an RBI and two runs for Deering.

 

BONNY EAGLE 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Cam McKague drew a bases-loaded walk and Kevin Moskevich added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning as the Scots (6-3) broke a 2-2 tie against the Red Riots (6-3) at South Portland.

Lincoln Sanborn struck out nine while throwing a seven-hitter, and Nick Cawood and Adam Morin had two hits apiece for Bonny Eagle.

 

WAYNFLETE 10, SACOPEE VALLEY 5: John Sherman hit a two-run double to key a five-run third inning as the Flyers (2-3) opened an 8-1 lead against the Hawks (0-8) at Portland.

Sam Fillinger of Waynflete allowed three earned runs on six hits, striking out five and walking one.

 

PORTLAND 16, NOBLE 11: Adam Gould, Jason Strauss and Alex Donatelle each drove in a run during a six-run sixth inning as the Bulldogs (6-3) rallied past the Knights (0-9) at North Berwick.

Gould also hit a three-run homer, and Nick Volgas added three hits, two runs and an RBI for Portland.

 

WESTBROOK 9, KENNEBUNK 0: Zach Collett broke a 1-1 tie with a two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning to help the Blue Blazes (7-2) beat the Rams (3-6) at Westbrook.

Collett finished 3 for 4 with three RBI, and Sean Murphy was 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBI.

 

GORHAM 15, MASSABESIC 1: Colin Lubelczyk’s three-run triple helped the Rams (3-6) to an eight-run third inning against the Mustangs (0-9) in a five-inning game at Gorham.

Steve Broy was 3 for 4 with two triples and four RBI, and Sean Grandmaison was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI.
