BANGOR — Maine’s governor and chief justice were among those scheduled to attend the formal opening this morning of a new state judicial center in Bangor, which will have seven courtrooms and modern amenities.
The Penobscot Judicial Center will replace a century-old structure. It is handicapped accessible, energy efficient, Wi-fi accessible and meets other state-of-the-art standards.
Gov. John Baldacci, Chief Justice Leigh Saufley and Justice Warren Silver were scheduled to speak immediately following the ribbon cutting and tours for the public will be available from noon to 4 p.m.
