VASSALBORO — Forty-four new police officers are shining their badges following their graduation from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

The new officers, who graduated today, completed 18 weeks of study at the academy in Vassalboro.

They’ll now go to work at local police departments, sheriff’s departments, the Maine Warden Service and Baxter State Park. Many of the new officers will be on patrol for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
