SOUTH PORTLAND — A truck loaded with timber rolled over on the Exit 1 interchange from Interstate 295 southbound shortly after 2 p.m. today.
There were no immediate reports of injuries but the interchange was blocked as the load of wood was scattered, authorities said.
The ramp, which has a relatively sharp turn, leads to the spur that connect the Maine Turnpike with Broadway, near the Scarbrough town line. The load of logs and the truck are now blocking two lanes of the connector, which has led to other traffic jams as cars are diverted.
Motorists were urged to seek an alternate route.
