PORTLAND — Energy officials say home heating oil prices in Maine fell 7 cents a gallon last week, marking the third consecutive week that prices have fallen.

The Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security said today that the statewide average price for heating oil stands at $2.66 a gallon. The highest average price is in northern Maine, while the lowest is in southern Maine.

Director John Kerry says prices have dropped in recent weeks over concerns about the debt crisis and economic recovery prospects in Europe.

Kerosene prices have fallen to $3.03 a gallon on average, down 7 cents in the past week.
