PORTLAND — Diplomas were presented to 257 graduates in Deering High School’s class of 2010 during a commencement ceremony this morning at the Portland Exposition Building.

Posthumous diplomas were presented to family and friends of two class members who died in recent months, Guy Kitoko and Farhad Maharov.

It was Principal Ken Kunin’s fifth and final DHS graduation. The principal has resigned to pursue new opportunities in public service.

Superintendent Jim Morse said during his opening remarks that Deering High was “blessed with (Kunin’s) stewardship” for the last five years.
