The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a release this afternoon that Route 35 in Standish is closed between routes 237 and RT 114.
According to the release, the bankings collapsed on the construction site for a new bridge. Standish officials said the road may reopen sometimes late tonight, at the earliest. Local police officers are redirecting traffic, the sheriff’s office said.
