WESTBROOK – An undetermined amount of drugs was taken from a Rite Aid Pharmacy this morning in a robbery, police said.

According to police, a 20- to 30-year-old man went into the store on Main Street around 9:20 this morning and demanded the drugs at the pharmacy counter. No weapon was mentioned or shown, police said, but witnesses said the man kept his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon.

After getting the drugs, the man ran from the store and was seen being picked up by a black Honda CRV that continued on Main Street in the direction of Portland, police said.

The man was described as about 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a green hooded sweat shirt, a black or dark blue baseball cap and blue jeans.

Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery call the Westbrook Police Department at 854-0644 or an anonymous crime tip hotline at 591-8117.
