PORTLAND— The North Yarmouth Academy girls’ lacrosse team won its first Class B state title Saturday with a 7-3 win over rival Waynflete at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

The Panthers (12-3) were in control from first to last draw and got a pair of goals from Kylie Dalbec, and one each from Hannah Twombly, Rebecca McKelvy, Katherine Millett, Frances Leslie, and Lilly Wellenbach.

The win snaps a two-year reign by Waynflete. The Flyers finish the season 12-3.

“We’ve been to the final six or seven times and this is our first win,” said NYA Coach Julia Sterling. “This is huge.”
