LEBANON — River Road was closed to one lane of traffic for about an hour this afternoon after a Massachusetts driver hit several trees on the front lawn of a home at 505 River Rd.
Jason Cole, the town’s Assistant Rescue Chief, said the woman’s car was travelling north on River Road when it veered off the road and struck a large group of trees.
The impact ripped the front passenger side tire off the car. The driver, a 44-year-old woman from Beverly, Mass., was wearing her seatbelt and was not seriously injured. Her 2003 Saturn Ion was destroyed.
Cole said the collision startled neighbors, several of home said it shook their homes.
The accident took place around 3 p.m. The driver’s name was unavailable. State police are investigating the crash.
