Kennebunk’s Leonardi is repeat Gatorade winner
Kennebunk High sophomore Abbey Leonardi was named the Gatorade Maine girls’ track and field athlete of the year for the second year in a row Thursday.
Leonardi won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters in the Class A state meet. Her 1,600 time of 4 minutes, 51.57 seconds ranked No. 38 nationally. She also ran a top-20 time in the 3,200 with a 10:26.48 in the New England championships.
