Hot Ticket: Vignola dishes up a taste of Tunisia
ON TUESDAY, Portlanders will have the rare opportunity to get a taste of Tunisia’s olive oils (pictured, right), wild mountain capers and harissa, a hot chile paste used in traditional North African dishes. Majid Mahjoub, the owner of Les Moulins Mahjoub, located in the Tunisian district of Tebourba, will be at Vignola for a four-course dinner featuring many of his company’s premium products. Reservations are recommended.

Cheap Thrill: Behold the beauty of butter
PINELAND FARMS’ “Fresh From the Farm” family series will host a butter-making program Tuesday where you can meet a calf, try your hand at milking a cow, visit the milk room, learn how a milking machine works and, yes, make your own butter. The best part? You get to take home any butter you make. Space is limited, so registration is required.
