Yarmouth’s Patrick Tarpy (in the lead, right) leads the pack down Freeport’s Bow Street during Sunday’s L.L. Bean 10K. Tarpy set a new record with a time of 30 minutes, 51 seconds, shattering Michael Payson’s old mark by over a minute. Freeport’s Josh Zolla was runner-up (33:05).
Freeport’s Joan Benoit Samuelson won the women’s race in 38:25 and afterwards congratulated runner-up Caitlyn Clark, of Worcester, Mass. (39:03).
