STANDISH — A Hollis man was charged with aggravated assault and burglary following a dispute over a female at a campground, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at the Family and Friends Campground on Richville Road on Tuesday evening. Eric Sturgeon, 45, was issued a criminal trespass order to stay away from the campsite of 56-year-old Robert Kerrigan, also of Hollis.

Kerrigan and other witnesses said Sturgeon later went into Kerrigan’s camper, forced the older man outside and brandished a folding knife, according to the sheriff’s office.

The two men fought and both suffered minor stab wounds.

Kerrigan was not charged in the incident.
