Jeffrey Earnhardt, grandson of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, has entered the TD Bank 250, Maine’s premier auto race scheduled for July 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Earnhardt, a native of Mooresville, N.C., has competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the K&N East Series. Earnhardt started his driving career competing on the short tracks of Virginia.

“Racing in the TD Bank 250 will be an exciting challenge for me. Growing up in racing like I did, everyone knows about Oxford and how tough the competition is there,” Earnhardt said.

Earnhardt will be driving for Go Green Racing, a team owned by Archie St. Hilaire of Old Orchard Beach. St. Hilaireo has fielded cars in the TD Bank 250 before, including one driven by NASCAR driver Kevin Lepage.

The Late Model car will be number 8NC. Earnhardt will be competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on July 16 in Madison, Ill., before flying to Maine to practice on Saturday before Sunday’s main event. On Sunday, qualifying starts at 2 p.m. with the race starting at 6:30.

The Earnhardt’s are racing royalty and we are honored that Jeffrey has decided to challenge the best Late Models from all over New England and Eastern Canada,” said Speedway owner Bill Ryan.
