Congresswoman Chellie Pingree didn’t make it to the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport to greet President Obama and his family today.
But it wasn’t her fault, really, says spokesman Willy Ritch.

Pingree got fogged in and couldn’t get off North Haven, the Penobscot Bay island where she lives. She tried, Ritch said, but the fog was just too thick and didn’t lift.

Meanwhile, the weather was perfect a little further Downeast, where the Obamas were greeted by Gov. John Baldacci, his wife, Karen, and Congressman Mike Michaud and quickly took off for a bicycle ride in Acadia National Park.

Welcome to Maine.
