Army Reserve Spec. Jeffrey T. Jones has been mobilized and activated at Fort Dix, N.J., in preparation for deployment to serve in support of either Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom. Jones has served in the military for four years and is a member of the 94th Military Police Company, Londonderry, N.H. He is the son of Thomas and Beatrice Jones of Limington and is a 2006 graduate of Cheverus High School, Portland.

Army Pfc. Eric R. Pfeffer has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Dennis and Karen Pfeffer of Freeport and is a 2000 graduate of Freeport High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Arthur N. Fisenko has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. He is the son of Natalia Fisenko of Portland and is a 2000 graduate of Portland High School.

Marine Corps 1st Lt. Daniel V. Steller, a 2001 graduate of Bonny Eagle High School, Standish, was recently designated a Naval Aviator and was presented with the “Wings of Gold,” while serving with Helicopter Training Squadron 18, Milton, Fla. Steller joined the Marine Corps in September 2007.

Navy Seaman Recruit Joshua W. Graffam, son of Diana and William Graffam of Saco, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Graffam is a 2006 graduate of Thornton Academy, Saco.

Navy Cmdr. Peter W. Hudson Jr., recently assumed command of the USS NEVADA (GOLD) (SSBN 733) homeported in Bangor, Wash. Hudson will be responsible for leading 160 sailors in upgrading the stratregic fire control system and completing the ship’s recertification for strategic operations. He is the son of Nancy Pike of Bridgton and Peter Hudson of East Waterboro and joined the Navy in January 1991.
