Members of the Scarborough Police Explorer Post 883 have brought back accolades from a national conference in Atlanta.

Of 120 teams competing in events ranging from bomb threat response to hostage negotiation, Scarborough’s team took fourth place in emergency field first aid. It was the first time the town’s Explorers placed in a team event. Teams train for each of a dozen competitions but don’t know which one they will be entered in until the day of the event.

The National Law Enforcement Explorers Conference took place July 19-24 and included 2,600 participants. The conference featured seminars and demonstrations in addition to the competition.
