YORK — Inspectors with the state fire marshal’s office are inspecting a Ferris wheel that got stuck at a southern Maine amusement park, forcing firefighters to rescue a dozen people with a ladder truck.

Officials say the Ferris wheel got stuck at the Wild Kingdom in York last Thursday night. No injuries were reported, but WMTW-TV says it took 45 minutes for rescue crews to get everybody off.

Fire marshal officials in May inspected a train ride at the park after a 22-month-old girl suffered minor injuries when she fell off the ride.
