PORTLAND — Norma J. Daicy, 71, died July 23 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

On June 29, 1939, she was born in Paterson, N.J., a daughter of Laurice and Hilda (Macpherson) Fletcher.

In 1957 she graduated from Portland High School, and attended Northeast School of Business.

For 25 years she worked as a visiting homemaker for Catholic Charities of Maine, and later on as a cashier at Valley Variety and Smoker’s Depot.

Her hobbies included playing rummy and doing crossword puzzles.

She loved spending time with her family, especially holiday gatherings and her grandchildren’s sporting events. Recently, she renovated her backyard, where she celebrated her last birthday with her entire family.

She was predeceased by a son, Gene Clark, and a sister, Effie Fletcher.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Gervais and her husband Robert of South Portland, Karen Terrazas and her husband Juan of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paula Clark of Portland, and two sons, James Clark and his companion Laura of Moyock, N.C., and Brian Daicy and his companion Lisa Barbosa of Hoboken, N.J.; a sister, Ruth Swasey and her husband Everett of Hollis, and a brother, William Fletcher of South Portland; and eight grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the VNA and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their compassionate care.

Services were private.
