CRANBERRY ISLES — An official from Maine’s Little Cranberry Island says driver error is to blame for a golf cart crash in which two people were injured when they went off the side of a municipal dock.
Fire Warden Edgar Blank tells the Bangor Daily News the woman driving the cart stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake just before noon on Thursday, sending the cart off the dock and down 15 to 18 feet.
Blank didn’t identify the couple, summer residents of the island.
The two were taken by boat to the mainland and then to Mount Desert Hospital in Bar Harbor where they were reported Friday to be in good condition.
