DANFORTH — The Maine Warden Service says three people were hurt – two with life-threatening injuries – when their all-terrain vehicle went airborne and into some hemlock trees.
Wardens say the accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on a road in Danforth that leads to a private camp.
Officials say 20-year-old Tasha Barnes of Baileyville was driving the ATV. Also on board were an 8-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl, from Princeton.
Wardens say Barnes and the 8-year-old girl were in critical condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
The older girl was treated at Houlton Regional Hospital and released.
Officials say none of the riders was wearing a helmet.
