BRUNSWICK — Two people were injured and one person was arrested tonight after two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 in Brunswick.

State Trooper Larry Rose said he arrested 28-year-old Michael Trask of Lisbon Falls for operating after his license had been suspended. Trask was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

Trask told police he lost control of his Subaru Forester, which left the highway and then veered back onto the road, striking a Ford Explorer with a husband and wife inside.

Dalton Gray, 65, and his wife, Sandra Gray, 66, both of Dixmont, had to be transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland after their truck rolled over. The couple became trapped and had to be extricated by rescue personnel. Their injuries were believed to be non life threatening.

Rose said the northbound travel lane, near the Androscoggin River bridge, was closed for about an hour after the accident, which was reported at 5:52 p.m.
