GULF HAGAS — Authorities say an injured hiker has been rescued after falling and injuring her legs in the Gulf Hagas region.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jody Rackcliffe, of Blue Hill, was flown out of the woods by helicopter early Sunday night after falling while descending the Gulf View Lookout. Warden Roger Guay, of the state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, says the woman was in agony when she was carried down the trail by about 15 rescuers.
The Bangor Daily News reports that she was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where she was found to have fractured or dislocated her right ankle and suffered injuries to her left leg.
