VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass.— Northeast fishermen have been sounding off – literally – about administration catch limits in a noisy demonstration during President Barack Obama’s vacation.

More than a dozen boats from across the region circled the harbor at Vineyard Haven on Thursday, tooting their horns in protest. The action followed an ad in a local paper Tuesday that was headlined, “Mr. President, We Need Your Help.”

Fishermen from Gloucester and elsewhere on the Northeast coast say catch limits are so stringent they’re being forced out of business.

The president on Thursday drove from his rented farm complex in Chilmark to a golf course in Oak Bluffs but was not within eyesight of the protest.
