YARMOUTH – Jillian Bjorn-Caron scored four minutes into overtime to lift North Yarmouth Academy to a 2-1 victory over Traip Academy in a Western Maine Conference girls’ soccer opener Friday.

The Rangers took the lead in the 54th minute on a goal from Chloe Gaudissart. Lily Wellenbach tied the game with six minutes left in regulation, assisted by Hannah Twombly. Wellenbach also set up the winner.

WINDHAM 0, BONNY EAGLE 0: Marisa Butler had 22 saves for the Scots (0-0-1) and Amber Verrill made 11 saves for the Eagles (0-0-1) at West Buxton.

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, LAKE REGION 2: Karyn Barrett scored three goals to lead the Capers (1-0) past the Lakers (0-1) at Naples.

Hannah Dineen also scored for Cape Elizabeth, which led 2-1 at halftime.

Lake Region got one goal apiece from Doe Lecki and Rachel Wandishin.

CHEVERUS 2, GORHAM 1: Abby Maker and Hannah Noonan scored off deflections for the Stags (1-0) in their win over the Rams (0-1) at Gorham.

Shelbi Guimond scored for Gorham off a pass by Kiersten Turner.

FALMOUTH 7, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Cassie Darrow scored three times for the Yachtsmen (1-0) in their win over the Raiders (0-1) at Fryeburg.

Jessie L’Heureux scored twice, and Allie Lycan had three assists.

Maggie McConkey had 21 saves for Fryeburg.

MCAULEY 2, PORTLAND 0: Catherine Lake scored in the first half and Shelby Bryant added a second-half goal as the Lions (1-0) blanked the visiting Bulldogs (0-1).

McAuley keeper Molly Miller finished with eight saves. Mashale Nabi stopped six shots for the Bulldogs.

SCARBOROUGH 4, MASSABESIC 0: Meghan Tyson had a goal and an assist as Scarborough (1-0) shut out Massabesic (0-1) at Scarborough.

Tori Armishaw scored unassisted in the 12th minute to give the Red Storm the lead. Tyson scored on a free kick in the 17th minute, then set up Haley Carrignan’s goal 10 minutes into the second half. Margaret Palmer provided the final goal, scoring off a corner by Sarah Little.

Massabesic’s Gemma Lundrigan stopped 14 shots.

SOUTH PORTLAND 3, WESTBROOK 1: Jenna Wing had two goals and an assist to lead the Red Riots (1-0) over the Blue Blazes (0-1) at South Portland.

Wing scored and set up a goal by Janacee Bradbury in the first half. The Red Riots went up 3-0 on Wing’s second goal.

Vanessa Bradley scored for the Blue Blazes with 15:22 left.

DIRIGO 4, HALL-DALE 2: Natalie Bolduc scored her second goal of the game midway through the second half to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Cougars (1-0) over the Bulldogs (0-1) at Dixfield.

KENNEBUNK 2, MARSHWOOD 1: Camille Auger and Lauren Erico each scored a goal and the Rams (1-0) held off the Hawks (0-1) at Kennebunk.

Alex Leonardi and Nikki Gassman provided assists for Kennebunk, and Margaux Le-Blanc made six saves.

Jillian Gori scored for Marshwood with three minutes left.

BRUNSWICK 6, CONY 0: Dakota Foster scored two goals as Brunswick (1-0) shut out Cony (0-1) at Brunswick.

MT. ARARAT 2, ERSKINE ACADEMY 0: Haley Michaud scored in the first half and Jaymee Wallace in the second as the Eagles (1-0) defeated Erskine (0-1) at South China.

GREELY 2, FALMOUTH 1: Ceci Hodgkins scored off a scramble in front of the net at 4:11 of overtime to lift Greely (1-0) at Falmouth (0-2).

Stephanie Gramse gave the Yachtsmen the lead at 16:19 of the first half, but Emily Curato tied it at 10:16 of the second.

Kelsey Freedman made 10 saves for Falmouth; Maggie Bower made four for Greely.

TRAIP ACADEMY 2, POLAND 1: Kaylie Andrews scored in overtime for the Rangers (1-1), who defeated the Knights (0-1) at Kittery.

Ashleigh Roberts also scored for Traip Academy, and Mimi Carmichael scored for Poland.

LAKE REGION 1, YARMOUTH 0: Kate Cutting’s goal lifted the Lakers (1-1) over the Clippers (0-2) at Yarmouth.

Cassidy Cleaves had seven saves for Yarmouth.

MARSHWOOD 3, WINDHAM 1: Marshwood (1-0) scored two goals in the first four minutes and went on to defeat the Eagles (0-1) at Windham.

Sammi Crossman scored three minutes into the game and Ashley Tice scored a minute later.

Windham’s Colleen Holtan scored at 15:25 of the second half, assisted by Jen Sledge. Natalia Batchelder added Marshwood’s third goal with 15 seconds left.

NYA 10, FREEPORT 1: Katherine Millett scored four goals, and Kylie Dalbec added two goals and five assists as the Panthers (1-0) downed the Falcons (1-1) at Yarmouth.

Jenny Bream scored for Freeport and Emily Daniel finished with 18 saves.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, MCAULEY 0: Michele Banville scored twice in the first half as the Golden Trojans beat the Lions at Saco.

Morgan Ouellette-Foss put the Trojans ahead just 2:20 into the game after receiving a pass from Katrina Thibodeau.

Abbey Siulinski needed four saves for the shutout. Jamie LaCasse of McAuley stopped nine shots.

YORK 2, WELLS 1: Cari Posternak scored two second-half goals for the Wildcats (2-0) in a win over the Warriors (1-1) at York.

Jill Sledzicski scored for Wells with 1:24 remaining.

SCARBOROUGH 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Whitney Bona recorded 10 kills as the Red Storm (1-0) downed the Capers (0-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Emily Robbins added 30 service points for Scarborough, with 10 aces and 15 assists.

BIDDEFORD 3, GREELY 1: Keila Grigware had 16 kills and was 18 of 19 serving, including three aces, to lift the Tigers (1-0) over the Rangers (0-1) at Cumberland.

Alyssa Drapeau added seven kills for the Tigers and was 23 of 24 serving, including four aces.

FALMOUTH 3, CONY 0: Kate Sparks had 12 service points, five aces, seven kills and nine digs to lead the Yachtsmen (1-0) to a straight-sets win over the Rams (0-1) at Augusta.
