SANFORD – Sarah Howard scored off a penalty stroke with three minutes left in regulation, then scored again in overtime to give Westbrook a 4-3 win over Sanford in an SMAA field hockey game Friday.

Howard finished with three goals, and Olivia Marsden scored the other for Westbrook (3-0).

Caroline L’Heureux, Tally Brown and Sarah Stanley scored for Sanford (1-1).

 

PORTLAND 3, WINDHAM 2: Maura O’Connor scored off a pass from Effie Drew less than two minutes into overtime to give the Bulldogs (1-2) a victory over the Eagles (0-4) at Windham.

Portland took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Leanne Reichert scored off a penalty corner, but Molly McVetty converted Brittany Fendrick’s pass to tie the game before halftime.

McVetty countered again in the second half after Raechel Allen gave Portland a 2-1 lead.

 

SCARBOROUGH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Kristen Felt converted a penalty stroke in the first half, and Kelcey Howard and Sarah Bunting added second-half goals for the Red Storm (2-0) against the Golden Trojans (2-1) at Saco.

Shannon Hicks stopped three shots for the shutout. Abbey Siulinski made 10 saves for Thornton.

 

CHEVERUS 2, MASSABESIC 1: Anna McDonough’s goal with less than five minutes left gave the Stags (3-0) a win over the Mustangs (1-2) at Waterboro.

Nikki Kent of Massabesic scored the only goal of the first half. Sarah LaQuerre tied it early in the second half.

 

BIDDEFORD 2, NOBLE 1: Amethyst Hersom scored in overtime as the Tigers (1-1) beat the Knights (1-2) at North Berwick.

Noble led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Becca Osborne. Jen Kimborowicz tied it with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.

 

BONNY EAGLE 3, MCAULEY 0: Peyton Dostie scored two goals for the Scots (3-0) in a win over the Lions (2-1) at Standish.

Nicole DeMidio also scored, and Rebecca Conley made two saves for the shutout.

Jaime LaCasse made 13 saves for McAuley.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

WINDHAM 1, PORTLAND 0: Jordan Simonds scored off a cross from B.B. Butz with about eight minutes remaining to lift the Eagles (1-0-1) over the Bulldogs (0-3) at Portland.

Windham keeper Amber Verrill made four saves. Rachel Waterhouse had 11 saves for Portland.

THORNTON ACADEMY 4, BONNY EAGLE 0: Amanda Arnold scored three goals in a four-minute span of the second half as the Trojans (1-1) pulled away from the Scots (1-1-1) in Saco.

Jackie Costello’s header off a corner kick by Melanie Hurrell gave Thornton a 1-0 lead with 7:28 left in the first half.

Ashley Kane assisted on two of Arnold’s goals, and Christie Roberts also had an assist.

Sydney Proctor made four saves for the shutout. Bonny Eagle’s Marissa Butler stopped 11 shots.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 0, CHEVERUS 0: Andrea Kinder made 14 saves for South Portland (1-1-1) and Jessica Krause stopped five shots for Cheverus (2-0-1) in a scoreless draw at Portland.

MT. ARARAT 2, EDWARD LITTLE 0: The Eagles (3-0) used goals by Celia Ouellette and Jaymee Wallace to down the Red Eddies (0-3) at Topsham.

 

MEDOMAK VALLEY 2, OAK HILL 1: Maria Ennamorati had a goal and an assist, and Alanna Vose also scored to help the Panthers (1-1) edge the Black Raiders (1-2) at Waldoboro.

Abby Goulet scored for Oak Hill.

Amanda Hendrickson-Bello-quet made 11 saves for Medomak Valley; Darby Beaulieu made 10 saves for Oak Hill.

WATERVILLE 12, BREWER 0: Jordan Pellerin had six goals and an assist as the Purple Panthers (3-0) cruised to a win over the Witches (0-3) in Waterville.

Abbie Webster had three goals and an assist, and Kylee Gardiner scored twice.

BOYS’ SOCCER

ERSKINE ACADEMY 6, MORSE 0: Brian Potter scored four goals in the first half as the Eagles (1-1-1) beat the Shipbuilders (1-2) at South China.

Matt Potter and Nick Hoffman scored in the second half. Ryan Pulver and Tom Grady each had an assist, and Zack Busmanis made four saves.

OAK HILL 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Tyler Pelletier stopped 16 shots as the Raiders beat the Panthers at Wales.

Jamiel Kidd had two goals for Oak Hill (2-1), Dalton Burns also scored, and Ben Daggett and Adam Beaulieu each had an assist.

Ryan Griffin made 19 saves for Medomak Valley (0-2).

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 9, CHOP POINT 1: Anthony Simpson scored seven goals, and Ben Hammond and Eric Pearson also scored as the Lions (1-0) beat the Bears (0-1) at South Portland.

 

WATERVILLE 5, BREWER 0: Five players scored in the second half as the visiting Purple Panthers (2-0-1) quickly turned a scoreless tie at halftime into a blowout.

Wilson Guthro, Eric Sampson, David Cook and Tommy Sampson scored during a 13-minute span. Alex Rowe added the last goal with 6:42 to play.

 

ISLESBORO 3, VALLEY 0: The Eagles (2-0) scored three second-half goals on their way to a victory at Islesboro.

Max Mahan had two goals, and D.J. Johnson added a goal and an assist.
