Paving crews need additional time to finish work on a northbound lane of Interstate 295.  The lane closure that caused problems with this morning’s commute will be extended until 3 p.m.

The lane closure, for three miles leading up to the Royal River Bridge in Yarmouth, was scheduled to end at noon. But the crews need additional time to finish the day’s work so the closure will be extended, the Maine Department of Transportation announced this morning in a press release.

Northbound traffic has been confined to one lane in the area which has backed up traffic for five miles at times.
